Why It’s Pretentious: Sigh. You guys, I don’t really know what to write here except that it’s only been summer for a few days and I already miss all my friends. A few years ago, my co-dependent best friend went to Spain, so I made a mix about it and named after a Death Cab song. I now dedicate this tape to all my friends who aren’t in Nashville right now. This mix is about how I now have a job in punk punk rawk rawk.
Why It’s Pretentious: Dudes. Last night, JEFF the B-hood, making their TV debut on Jimmy Fallon. Doing Nashville proud. It’s like, two days ago, they were practicing those riffs in the other room and now they’re on the TV, kicking people in the face with awesome music. I can’t even. If anyone deserves to be broadcast into late night and beyond, it’s these two.
So I made this mix when Infinity Cat took me on as an intern OVER A YEAR AGO WHAT. It’s a weird jumble of some of my favorite garage/punk songs and garage/punk-adjacent songs and garage/punk third cousin songs. What I’m saying is, Say Anything is also on this playlist.
